A few years ago, I spent every weekend on Dartmoor. With me, a camera, packed lunch, and two close friends. We would wonder and stumble across great towering evergreen forests and rushing mossy rivers, yet the distance covered was always significantly small in comparison to the hours we spent walking. There were constant moments to play, sheltered spaces to sit still and endless scenes to notice and capture. I suppose these walks are what inspired Rambles & Brambles; I realised the importance of slow adventure, combined it with a creative lens, and found a desperate need to share the stories of our natural environment.

Anyone is encouraged to join, no matter what lens you have, if you have a way of capturing/ sketching what you see, or nothing at all, feel free to come along. They are slow rambles on the hunt for details, a chance to dedicate some time to noticing what you might not normally, learn from people around you and share your skills too. There will be different photography methods to experiment with, as well as time to spend in one spot either sketching or zooming in on what inspires you, accompanied by a snack and a brew of course. The walks are a chance for everyone to go slow and stumble upon patterns, rhythms and the little things poking through our modern landscapes or buried within our wilderness.

Everyone sees things differently to the next, yet one thing we all have in common is the place we call home, Mother Earth.
